Richard Keys doubles down on ‘borderline racist’ tweet about Jamie Carragher by saying solely the ‘small minded’ need the England supervisor to be English – and asks if the general public is ‘courageous sufficient’ to think about Sarina Wiegman for the job

Richard Keys has refused to again down amid his row with Jamie Carragher, labelling the Sky pundit ‘outdated’ and ‘small-minded – only a day after calling him a ‘borderline racist’ for wanting an English supervisor in control of England. 

Query marks over whether or not Gareth Southgate will keep on as supervisor following a disappointing World Cup exit in Qatar has seen speak emerge of potential strikes for Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino or Brendan Rodgers.

Carragher is adamant that it have to be an English supervisor in cost and with their row escalating, Keys has now questioned if the English public are ‘courageous’ sufficient to think about appointing Lionesses’ Euros-winning head coach Sarina Wiegman.

‘They border on racist. Inclusivity in each sense is power. Are we courageous sufficient to think about Sarina Wiegman?’
