Tione “Lil Tjay” Merritt suffered a number of gunshot wounds throughout an alleged theft try in June. Since then, the Bronx rapper has recovered sufficient to launch new music.
Lil Tjay launched the official “Beat the Odds” music video on August 26. The visuals have collected over 11 million views since its YouTube premiere.
Within the tune, Tjay raps about his expertise of being shot and the fallout from the violent incident. The 21-year-old New Yorker filmed the music video as he lay in a hospital mattress.
“Beat the Odds” joins a Lil Tjay catalog that features “Pop Out” with Polo G, “F.N,” “Maintain On,” “Calling My Telephone” with 6lack, and “Headshot” with Polo G and Fivio Overseas.
At one level, rumors of Lil Tjay being paralyzed from the taking pictures unfold throughout the web. He responded to the hypothesis with a message on social media.
“The blogs mentioned I used to be paralyzed and couldn’t stroll. However I began strolling in per week after surgical procedure. I beat the chances,” wrote Tjay on TikTok.
“Beat the Odds” performs within the background of the 16-second TikTok publish. Greater than 680,000 customers like Lil Tjay’s video. He captioned the clip, “Grateful for this sh*t 🙏🏽.”
The Columbia recording artist beforehand known as out “the blogs” for supposedly reporting that he misplaced his voice. Tjay reacted to that gossip by claiming he recorded “Beat the Odds” two weeks after waking up from being unconscious.
