A carer was strolling residence from work on Christmas Eve when she was hit by a police automotive, a coroner’s courtroom has heard.

Rachael Moore, 22, died after she was hit by the Merseyside Police automobile within the Kensington space of Liverpool simply after 8pm on December 24.

An inquest opening on Wednesday heard the police driver tried CPR earlier than she was pronounced lifeless on the scene by paramedics.

Senior coroner for Liverpool and Wirral Andre Rebello mentioned: ‘The circumstances that I used to be informed had been on December 24, shortly earlier than 8pm, Rachael had left her administrative center after complaining of a headache.

Mr Rebello requested coroner’s officer Pam Robbins to go on condolences to the household of the care employee, who was born in Derby.

Appeals for witnesses to the collision have been made by the Unbiased Workplace for Police Conduct (IOPC), which is investigating.

In a press release launched on Tuesday, Ms Moore’s household mentioned: ‘We’re absolutely supportive of the IOPC investigation and would please ask any witnesses to come back ahead to help the IOPC with their inquiries into what occurred to our daughter.’
