The nineteenth season of Gray’s Anatomy has seen a kind of altering of the guards, as star Ellen Pompeo made her exit from the beloved ABC collection, with 5 new characters being launched to take up the mantle. Now, the collection is shedding one other longtime collection common, as Kelly McCreary introduced her exit from the present. McCreary has portrayed Maggie Pierce — Meredith Gray’s half-sister — since Season 10.
Kelly McCreary’s remaining episode as a collection common will air Thursday, April 13, Deadline experiences, although like Ellen Pompeo, she plans to examine again into the happenings at Gray Sloan Memorial later this season. The actress launched a press release saying her impending departure, which reads:
Gray’s Anatomy Season 19 has seen hassle in Maggie’s marriage to Winston Ndugu (Anthony Hill), and the newest episode “Sisters Are Doin’ It for Themselves” solidified the sisterly bond between Maggie and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone), even in Meredith’s absence. Kelly McCreary’s assertion continued:
Along with these two large character exits, Gray’s Anatomy can also be shedding showrunner Krista Vernoff on the finish of Season 19. New episodes of Gray’s Anatomy air at 9 p.m. ET Thursdays on ABC.
