Robert Browne, 56, pleaded responsible to racially aggravated widespread assault at Tameside Magistrates Courtroom after a viral video confirmed him shouting a racist slur at 40-year-old instructor Shabir Makim.

Talking outdoors the courtroom yesterday, Mr Makim stated that Brown’s sentencing was ‘unacceptable’ and that his sentence was ‘fully ‘unjustified’.
He stated: ‘I feel (the sentence) is totally unjustified, he has mainly been let loose free and he can go and do it once more if he needs.
‘I do not really feel justice has been completed – for what I went via – it is unacceptable.’

Through the sentencing, Browne apologised and stated he had been inebriated when he carried out the assault.
He instructed the courtroom: ‘I apologise for my behaviour on that day. It was unacceptable.’
