King Charles’ first cousin, Maxmilian, Margrave of Baden, has died on the age of 89. 

The aristocrat, who was the nephew of Prince Philip by means of his sister, Theodora of Greece and Denmark, died at Schloss Salem close to Lake Constance in Germany. 

He had been head of the Home of Baden since 1963 and was married to Archduchess Valerie of Austria since 1966. 

The couple have 4 youngsters and his successor is his son Bernhard. He can have two memorial companies, one for shut household and one other for workers and well-wishers.

A press release from the Home of Baden stated: ‘Max Margrave of Baden died within the early morning hours of December 29, 2022 in Salem Citadel.
