Kylie Jenner is regretting participating in the bleached brow trend.
The reality star gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at how she does her “classic Kylie glam” makeup routine for Vogue‘s “Beauty Secrets” series. During the video, she admits that her recent experimentation with her brows went seriously awry. “I just had to do this campaign shoot and they wanted bleached brows, so [her makeup artst] Ariel [Tejada], I think just left the bleach on for too long and my eyebrows fell off. So now I’m just trying to get them back.” she explained. But Jenner added that it’s all “okay because thin brows are in.”
With the sparse brows she has left, the Kylie Cosmetics founder explained that she’s going for a more natural look these days. “Brows used to be the focus of our look. We used to always do these thick brows,” she said. “Now brows aren’t our main focus. I like natural, bushy brows.” So in order to achieve those “bushy and gorgeous” brows she uses the double-ended Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pencil, combing them up with the spoolie end before lightly penciling in her bottom arches and shading through the top to create a fuller look. She finished off the look by making sure they’re locked in place with Kosas brow gel, noting, “I never thought I would be the girl to really gel my brows up like this and now I am.”
It seems the campaign that required Jenner to bleach her brows hasn’t been released just yet, but she initially debuted the new blonde look in October at Paris Fashion Week. She lightened her arches to attend the Coperni Spring 2023 show, but instead of going typical bleach blonde, she instead lightened them to just a dirty blonde shade. However, by the next runway show she attended they were already a darker hue, suggesting that the look was just temporary. But at the beginning of 2023, she went all the way platinum again, showing off her new look in a series of selfies taken in the backseat of her car and posted to Instagram on January 4. Her makeup artist Tejada also left a comment on the post, writing, “We ate,” with a flame emoji.
