Quick X Director Explains Why Jason Momoa’s Character Is Related To Quick 5

The primary trailer for Quick X has lastly arrived, and with it got here some welcome details about Jason Momoa’s villainous character, Dante. Within the preview, it was revealed that Dante was current for the occasions of Quick 5, as he had some sort of relationship with that film’s predominant antagonist, Joaquim de Almeida’s Hernan Reyes. Now Louis Leterrier, who took over as Quick X’s director after Justin Lin left the manufacturing, has shared why Momoa’s character is related to the 2011 Quick & Livid entry.

Whereas breaking down the primary Quick X trailer with Whole Movie, Louis Leterrier shared that Quick 5 is his favourite Quick & Livid film, which resulted him pondering ‘What if, what if, what if?’ when he began engaged on this newest installment. From there, Leterrier talked about how there’s “worth to justice” and a “worth to Dom’s life decisions, with a view to take that darkness from the world,” leading to a “domino impact.” He continued:

We all know that’s the value that Dom, and the household, goes to pay. And Quick 5, for me, represented this essentially the most. Quick 5 was the final [Fast] film that really handled human stakes – the oppression of the poor. Reyes was oppressing the favelas and stealing from them. Dom and the household, they Robin Hood the cash, and provides it again. However if you suppose they’re doing the best factor, there’s at all times any individual who thinks you’re doing the fallacious factor. So what we tried to do was to Rashomon the Quick 5 protected heist, which is my favorite of all time. We have been like, ‘What if we filmed it by means of the eyes of the unhealthy guys? The place the unhealthy guys, in that imaginative and prescient, are Dom and Brian, they usually’re stealing this household protected?’
