Developer Options Missing From Firestick – What Happened?

According to multiple reports and some Patrons from the TROYPOINT Insider, many Firestick users are no longer seeing the Developer Options setting within My Fire TV.

A member from our TROYPOINT Insider sent us the following image of his Firestick screen. Notice his software version reads Fire OS 7.2.8.5.

The Developer Options setting has reportedly been removed by Amazon in its latest software updates.

However, after seeing this message we went ahead and checked our Fire TV Stick 4K Max and found that Developer Options was still showing for us.

However, after seeing this message we went ahead and checked our Fire TV Stick 4K Max and found that Developer Options was still showing for us.

This was also the case when we tested older generation Fire TV Sticks such as the Firestick Lite and others.

We even installed the latest software update to Fire OS 7.2.8.5 on our Fire TV Stick 4K Max and nothing changed. Developer Options is still showing on our end.

Now according to a report from AFTVNews, this change appears to be rolling out to Fire TV devices running Fire OS 7 with a software update of 7.2.8.X.

But after testing our Fire TV Stick 4K Max running Fire OS 7.2.8.5, the Developer Options setting is still showing on our end.

Therefore, it’s hard to know who will receive this update and when it will officially be rolled out by Amazon. We will keep our visitors posted when we receive this update.
